LIV Golf Joins Forces with Golf Rival

LIV Golf has partnered with Zynga’s popular mobile golf game Golf Rival to bring LIV Golf content to the gaming world. From June 8-16, Golf Rival players will have the opportunity to partake in a limited-time LIV Golf tournament and purchase in game LIV Gold- branded golf balls. An additional in-game tournament will be hosted from July 20-28. All Players will have access to exclusive in-game content during upcoming LIV Golf events.

Despite its initial status as a near-perfect clone of the popular game Golf Clash, Golf Rival quickly distinguished itself through large improvements in gameplay, visual fidelity, monetisation, and live-ops features. These enhancements enabled Golf Rival to capture an impressive 30% market share in just four years, establishing itself as the second largest casual golf simulator game by revenue.

Zynga, a global leader in interactive entertainment and a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., recognised the potential of Golf Rival and acquired the game for $525 million in 2021.

Golf Rival is available in more than 175 countries and regions, providing a platform for sports brands to connect with international audiences. LIV Golf recognised this vast global reach and took the opportunity to expand their own brand, following and influence.

Traditional sports like golf often struggle to captivate younger demographics. Such alliances help in nurturing a new generation of fans who might not engage with the sport through conventional channels.

By venturing into the gaming industry, sports brands can explore new revenue streams and market opportunities. The success of Golf Rival, with its impressive download growth and market share, demonstrates the lucrative potential of such collaborations.
