Zappy Birthday – a Zappa hops inspired celebration.
We were lucky enough to be asked by Black Hops Brewery to create a series of labels for their limited release birthday beers they were launching at a special sold out birthday event at the Burleigh Heads HQ.
The 4th birthday celebration release featured four amazing brews:
Beer #1: – Zappy Birthday, 6.2% Counter-Culture IPA
IPA’s are the original counter-culture of craft beer and what better way to pay tribute, than with Zappa hops. Named after Frank Zappa, in collaboration with the Zappa family, this hop is as counter-culture as the musician himself.
Beer #2 – Black Forest, 7% Birthday Cake Stout
A birthday is never complete without the cake, and the Black Forest Birthday Cake Stout didn’t disappoint. Inspired by its German pastry and brewing origins, boasting sweet chocolate malts with a rich cherry filling and a velvet smooth mouthfeel, this beer was killer, and we needed the label to match.
Beer #3 – Vermonster, 8% Nitro Sundae New England IPA
Vermonster is an 8% Nitro Sundae New England IPA full of big juicy hops and creamy malts, and canned on nitro for something a little special and to really add to that creaminess.
Beer #4 – Murder Hornet, 9.2% Black Imperial Hornet IPA
This was to be the flagship beer of the series and Dan and the team were keen for a label to match and set the tone for the rest of the series.
