BattleKart Brings the Excitement of Video Games to Life with Augmented Reality Racing

We all remember the long hours of playing video games like Mario Kart when we were younger. You never forget the competitiveness with your siblings or the fun with your friends. It is hard to comprehend these memories were all in front of a screen. But now, with Melbourne’s recent venture into the world of augmented reality (AR), we are no longer confined to the limits of a screen. BattleKart takes the excitement of video games and amplifies it with the adrenaline rush of real-life racing.

Founded in Belgium in 2019, BattleKart takes traditional go-karting and integrates projection technology into its electric karting tracks. This fusion turns a standard racetrack into an interactive video game arena, offering a variety of game modes that promise excitement to users. Due to the uniqueness and success of this creation, the concept has quickly expanded across four European countries and the Middle East, with Australia the most recent country to follow suit.

The digital overlaying of the physical space has created an amazing and unique consumer experience. By merging digital elements into physical spaces, businesses can offer enhanced engagement, personalised experiences, heightened convenience to their customers, and in the case of BattleKart, epic entertainment. This integration not only elevates the overall consumer experience but also opens up new opportunities for marketing, branding, and customer relationships.

The blend of augmented reality and kart racing is reshaping the future of interactive fun, and “With BattleKart, you don’t play the game; you play IN the game!” Many aspects are similar to your favourite video games, making it easier and familiar to understand how to play. The main goal in BattleKart is to drive around the track, collecting as many bonuses as you can, all while not touching the edges or crashing into other karts. You won’t fall from space, like in Mario Kart’s Rainbow Road or into a pit of fire in Bowser’s Castle, but you will have start again at the back of the pack. It is some fun with your friends and family, that will promise an awesome new experience and maybe even give you a bit of a throwback to your childhood days!
